The Timeless Saree

The saree has been favorite for generations in India that is why it is timeless. It is considered the most sensuous, stylish, and sophisticated attire. This classic attire is not just maintaining its space in wardrobe but also gaining international acclaim. An unstitched, six-yard rectangle piece of sheer and flowing fabric, available in vivid colors and embellished with the most intricate embroidery work or beautiful prints. Saree comes in the most mesmerizing avatars one cannot imagine. Such wide-ranging variety makes it suitable for all occasions – from weddings to formal functions and official meetings to social get-togethers. Today’s working Indian women has hectic and multifunction lives, and sari is also suitable and available for all those roles and functions.

Saree is a three-piece attire. A petticoat and   blouse go along with the Sari, need to be chosen carefully to compliment it. The petticoat color should match the base sari color as closely as possible. No part of the petticoat should be visible outside the Sari, after having worn it. A blouse which needs to be tight-fitting and whose color needs to be chosen keeping the look of the sari in mind, can be short sleeved or sleeveless, with a variety of necklines. The blouse ends just below the bust. You can wear an embellished blouse and expose it a bit for a more attractive look.

A properly draped Saree transforms a woman into graceful, stylish, elegant, and sensuous lady. Did you ever imagine that you can wear one piece of cloth in about 100 different ways? A sari is worn on different occasions and thus there are several sari draping styles available. If you are going to the office, it is advisable to pin up your sari, this looks smart and is manageable too. For parties, one can use creativity and create their own style of draping. Drape the sari long, so that only the tips of your toes show. Think of a sari as you would an evening gown.

You should always buy saree by keeping your weight, height, and skin complexion in consideration. The fabric and design should be such that it always compliments you and your body. For women who have apple structured figures, silk sarees with sequences, embroideries and bead work looks awesome. For pear shaped women, chiffon sarees would give a magnificent look. Women with leaner structure, cotton, thick silk and kanjevaram silk sarees will work wonders for them as this will make them look balanced and will amount to their look.

Accessories play a great role in enhancing the look of saree. Determine the footwear that you plan to wear. The height of your heels is important for determining where the bottom of the sari should reach. Since some saris might be transparent, try to wear an underskirt too. The shoes should be elegant, like golden sandals. Accessorize more with simple or plain saris, and less for saris that are heavier and a little more fancier Try wearing bangles with your sari to bring attention away from your bare arms and put a Bindi  to complete the look.

Saree is undoubtedly a beautiful clothing for every woman, and I hope these tips will surely help in enhancing you in saree
